Sustainability Report

The report describes Sol Meliá's 2008 sustainability programme, including a Global Sustainability Policy approved by the Board and a Sustainable Development Plan integrated into the Strategic Plan. It reports 34,305 employees and 56,074 training hours in Spain, including an average of 16.06 hours per person. Environmental highlights include 143 hotels in the SAVE energy-efficiency project, 209,701,083 Kg of CO2 emissions, and 20 certified hotels. Sol Meliá also reports signing up to the UN Global Compact in 2008.
