Sustainability Report

The report describes Meliá Hotels International's 2011 sustainability performance across governance, environmental, human, socio-cultural and economic areas. It reports a carbon footprint for 166 hotels totaling 220,660 tonnes of CO2e across Scopes 1, 2 and employee transport, and identifies 36,622 employees. The report also highlights 7,763,447 m3 of water consumption in the SAVE project, 27 environmentally certified hotels and 90,414 training hours in Spain. It includes a materiality study, a Global Compact progress report and a PwC limited-assurance review against GRI G3.1.
