Overview

The report describes Merck's 2014 group-wide performance across climate, energy, employees and waste. Greenhouse gas emissions were 524,000 metric tons CO2 equivalents and total energy consumption was 1,622 GWh. The workforce increased to 39,639 employees, while waste generated rose to 229,000 metric tons, largely because of construction and renovation. The report's Facts and figures indicators were subject to limited assurance by KPMG.
