Group Sustainability Statement

The report presents Merck KGaA's first Sustainability Statement prepared in full accordance with the ESRS framework for fiscal 2024. It reports a double materiality analysis, a transition plan with 2030 Scope 1 and Scope 2 reduction targets and a 2040 climate-neutrality ambition. The statement also provides Group-wide emissions, energy, water, waste and workforce metrics, including 62,557 employees. Sustainability governance is assigned to the Executive Board, Supervisory Board and Sustainability Board.
