The report records resilient FY 2008 trading, with consolidated revenue of £1,908m and operating profit before exceptional items of £343m despite difficult conditions. It also highlights environmental work: 75% of the retail estate was recycling glass and cardboard, and 1,800 tonnes of used cooking oil were collected for conversion into bio-diesel or renewable energy.
