Overview

The report presents MMG's 2011 sustainability performance across its global mining operations, including a workforce of 8,513 people and A$11,326,767 invested in local host communities. It reports total energy use of 6,452,901 gigajoules and 765,418 tonnes of CO2e emissions. The report also describes water management, safety performance, biodiversity initiatives and community development programs. Its sustainability disclosures received GRI A+ application-level confirmation and selected subject matter received independent limited assurance from Ernst & Young.
