Overview

The report describes MTN's move toward a more integrated account of financial, social, environmental and economic performance. In 2010, group revenue reached R114,7 billion, while subscribers rose to 141,6 million and network investment totaled R19,5 billion. The report also highlights progress integrating environmental matters, including investigations into low-carbon and renewable energy for base transceiver sites. Group-wide CO2 emissions from energy use were reported at 1 124 000 tonnes, including 743 000 tonnes of Scope 1 emissions.
