Overview

The report describes MTN's 2011 sustainability programme across sustainable economic value, eco-responsibility and sustainable societies. Group carbon footprint was reported at 950 564 tonnes, 15,7% below 2010, while employee count was 24 252 and training investment reached R265 235 million. MTN also reports governance improvements, including a Social and Ethics Committee as a main-board subcommittee, and adoption of GRI G3 with application assessed at level B. The report identifies future work on energy and climate targets and e-waste implementation.
