Overview

The report describes MTR's 2012 sustainability performance across Hong Kong and selected operations in Stockholm, Melbourne and Shenzhen, expanding the reporting boundary beyond Hong Kong. It highlights a newly enacted four-year company-wide safety strategy and extensive safety initiatives for employees, passengers and contractors. Carbon management broadened beyond rail energy use through the Life Cycle Carbon Assessment protocol and new energy-efficiency commitments. PwC provided limited assurance over selected 2012 performance data.
