Overview

The report presents MTR's 2013 sustainability performance across Hong Kong and wholly or majority-owned operations in Shenzhen, Melbourne and Stockholm, covering safety, environment, workforce and community programmes. Highlights include a 21 percentage target to reduce electricity use per passenger-kilometre by 2020 against 2008, disclosure of four contractor fatalities in construction and property businesses, and 23,236 full-time global employees. It follows GRI G4 core and includes limited independent assurance over selected data.
