Social and Environmental Report (Abridged Version)

The report presents FY2006 environmental inputs and outputs for the Group, including 4,272 TJ of energy use, 2,650,000 m3 of water consumption, 51,640 t of waste materials, and 194,000 t of factory and office CO2 emissions. It also describes the Group's public commitment to reduce total CO2 emissions by 8.6% by FY2010 compared with FY1990. Social highlights include the WFP promotion office, employee volunteerism, and fundraising and awareness initiatives addressing hunger and poverty.
