Forging a Better Tomorrow Report

The report highlights Norfolk Southern's best safety performance in more than a decade in 2025, alongside a 5% improvement in locomotive fuel efficiency. It reports that since 2019 the company reduced GHG emissions intensity by 12% and absolute Scope 1+2 emissions by 16%, and set an intensity-reduction target of 42% by 2034. The report also notes that 84% of operational waste was diverted from landfills and recycling volumes reached 299,435 tons in 2025.
