Annual Report

The report integrates sustainability into the Annual Report and highlights a strong 2011 focus on safety, environmental management, renewable energy, and community development. Barberton Mines reported no fatalities during the year under review, while the ASTER water-treatment plant enabled contaminated water to be reused in the metallurgical process. The report also states that a solar power plant was installed and supplying 960KW. Community initiatives included skills training, vegetable production, jewellery manufacture, and support for local schools and vulnerable residents.
