Overview

The report presents Peabody's 2019 ESG performance across environmental, social and governance topics. It reports 7.3 million tonnes CO2e of Scope 1 emissions, 815,500 tonnes CO2e of Scope 2 emissions, 13,701 megaliters of water recycled and reused, and 2,984 acres restored. Safety results included no fatalities at operated mines, while one fatality at the independently operated Middlemount joint venture was reflected in Peabody's safety results. Women represented 25 percent of the board, and Peabody completed its first full year as a UN Global Compact member.
