Our Business in Society

The report describes Pearson's 2007 progress in social responsibility, including a Platinum ranking in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index and global leadership in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. It reports an action plan to become a climate-neutral global business by the end of 2009 and around 200,000 metric tonnes of CO2 from controlled activity. The report also records more than 32,000 employees and £7.2m in 2007 cash donations, alongside extensive education, literacy and community programmes.
