Overview

The report presents Pick n Pay's FY2016 sustainability update across five focus areas, covering owned stores, distribution centres and regional offices. It reports 52 900 employees and 565 GWh of energy use, and states that 46% of store waste was recycled or diverted from landfill. The carbon-footprint table reports 697 019 Tonnes CO2e for FY2016, while limiting the footprint to Pick n Pay-owned stores. Community performance included R41.5 million in CSI expenditure and 4 500 jobs created during the year.
