Overview

The report presents Pohjolan Voima's 2008 corporate responsibility approach across financial, social and environmental responsibilities. It highlights 19 wind power plants and a 21 MW increase in wind capacity during 2008, alongside hydropower, nuclear, thermal and wind generation. The group reported 1,401 permanent employees at year-end and described safety initiatives, including 24 work or commuting accidents. Environmental management systems were certified to ISO 14001, and a July 2008 turbine-oil leak was fully retrieved without spreading outside internal channels.
