Sustainability Report

Overview

The report highlights Republic Services' achievement of more than 150,000 tons per year of recycling capacity, a three percent reduction in absolute fleet emissions, and new landfill gas-to-energy projects in 2018. It also introduces 2030 goals, including a 35% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions from a 2017 baseline. The report says these goals were developed after updating its materiality assessment and aligning selected goals with the SDGs. Recycling Simplified and expanded community initiatives are also highlighted.
