Annual Report

The report presents Rio Tinto's 2014 performance, highlighting US$47.7 billion consolidated sales revenue, 60,000 employees and a 9 per cent AIFR reduction. It reports 33.9 million tonnes of GHG emissions and an 18 per cent reduction in emissions intensity against 2008, while 65 per cent of electricity came from hydropower. Sustainable-development governance included an annual materiality assessment reviewed and approved by the Sustainability Committee and board-level oversight. PwC provided limited assurance over selected safety, GHG, energy and water subject matter.
