Sustainable Development Report

The report describes Rio Tinto's 2014 sustainability performance across safety, climate, people and environmental management. It reports two fatalities at managed operations, 60,000 employees, and an 18 per cent reduction in total GHG emissions intensity against 2008, beating the 2015 target. The report also highlights Group-wide materiality processes, GRI-aligned reporting, UN Global Compact participation and external assurance of selected sustainability subject matters.
