Sustainable Development Report

The report describes Rio Tinto's refreshed sustainability strategy, linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and its first report aligned with TCFD recommendations. It reports a 43% reduction in GHG emissions since 2008, 71% of electricity from renewable sources and a commitment to substantial decarbonisation by 2050. The report also highlights a direct economic contribution of $42.8 billion and reports three fatalities at operations during 2018.
