Sustainability Report

The report presents Saipem's 2012 sustainability performance across its global operations, with a strong focus on local employment, supplier development and community investment. It reports that 77% of 48,455 employees were employed locally and describes extensive training and local-content initiatives. Health and safety performance improved on key frequency rates, although three fatal accidents involving one subcontractor and two employees occurred. Environmental disclosures cover GHG emissions, water consumption, waste and energy-efficiency projects, and the report was subject to limited assurance by Reconta Ernst & Young S.p.A.
