Sustainability Report

The report describes Samsung SDI's 2011 shift toward a smart-energy and green-device portfolio, supported by its new vision and acquisition of the solar business. It reports global environmental performance including 801,042 tCO2e of greenhouse-gas emissions, 14,396 TJ of energy use, 8,552 kilotons of water use and a 93.8% waste-recycling rate. The company reports 14,155 workers, 43% women among new university graduate recruits and 123 annual average training hours per capita.
