Overview

The report presents Sappi's 2023 group performance for the year ended September 2023, highlighting 12,329 global employees and a business model based on renewable resources. It reports 3,474,491 ton CO2e of absolute Scope 1 emissions, 1,234,513 ton CO2e of Scope 2 emissions and 57.9% renewable and clean energy. Waste generated was 1,432,165 tons, with 74.3% diverted from disposal. KPMG provided limited external assurance over selected environmental and safety-related metrics, while Sappi's 2030 science-based Scope 1 and 2 target is a 41.5% reduction per ton from a 2019 base.
