Overview

The report describes Scales' validation of its materiality index with all business units and its developing sustainability framework. It reports 700+ permanent staff, rising to almost 2,500 at peak apple harvest, alongside four notifiable injuries and more than 3,000 training courses. Marketplace activity includes more than 52 third-party accreditations and over 400 independent audits. Environmental initiatives include recycled fibre trays, recycled orchard plastics, and a 5.7 per cent energy-intensity reduction at Polarcold's North Island sites.
