Overview

The report presents Shell's 2022 social, safety and environmental performance and its strategy to become a net-zero emissions energy business. It reports 58 million tonnes CO2e of combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 1,174 million tonnes CO2e of Scope 3 emissions from energy products, alongside a 50% absolute reduction target by 2030 and a net-zero target for 2050. It also covers water, waste and safety performance, including 111 million cubic metres of fresh water consumed, 1,982 thousand tonnes of waste disposed and two contractor fatalities. Shell reports 93,000 employees and 55.0% women on its Board at year-end.
