Overview

The report describes Shoprite Holdings' 2007 sustainability approach through workforce development, community investment and environmental management. It records 62 208 training interventions and reports that approximately 200 000 needy people benefited from the Soup Truck Initiative. The Group also introduced an energy management programme expected to save more than 11 000 tons of coal and 28 000 kilolitres of water annually, while reducing carbon dioxide generation by more than 20 000 tons.
