Overview

The report describes the Shoprite Group's 2023 sustainability performance, including a 153 726-person workforce, expanded renewable electricity use of 103 234 MWh and SBTi-validated emissions reduction targets. It reports Scope 1 emissions of 725 405 tCO2e, Scope 2 emissions of 1 724 725 tCO2e and Scope 3 emissions of 15 895 070 tCO2e. The Group also continued substantial community programmes focused on hunger relief, youth development and financial inclusion.
