Sustainability Report

The report presents Shoprite Group's FY2024 sustainability performance across its African operations, with double materiality, Board and Social and Ethics Committee oversight, and a focus on the SDGs. Highlights include 160 216 employees, 6.5% renewable energy, 2 752 792 MWh of total energy consumption, 16 782 823 tCO2e of total GHG emissions and R437.6 million of community investment. The Group reports 2030 emissions-reduction targets and describes progress in recycling, food security, water security and biodiversity.
