The report highlights Starbucks' 2009 progress in responsible coffee sourcing, including 81 percent C.A.F.E. Practices-verified purchases and 39 million pounds of Fairtrade coffee. It reports more than 186,000 hours of global community service and more than $17 million in community-building contributions. Environmental progress included renewable-energy purchases equivalent to 25 percent of electricity use in company-owned stores and the start of LED lighting conversion.
