Overview

The report presents a difficult 2008 marked by weak demand, restructuring and reduced profitability, while continuing to position renewable wood-based products as climate-friendly alternatives. It set a Group CO2 reduction target of 20% from 2006 levels by 2020. Sustainability governance was assigned to the Group Executive Team, supported by the Sustainability Action Team. Year-end continuing-operations employment was 31 667, down 3 239 from 2007.
