The report describes Sumitomo Chemical's CSR model as Sustainable Chemistry linking society, Responsible Care and economy. For fiscal 2004, the consolidated group reported net sales of ¥1,296.3 billion and 20,195 employees. Group environmental data included 2,321 thousands of kL of energy, 1,260 millions of tons of water input and 295 thousands of tons of waste generated. The group also reported a 4.1% CO2 emission-rate reduction target from fiscal 2002 by fiscal 2010.
