Overview

The report describes SMFG's Group CSR philosophy as contributing to the sustainable development of society and balancing responsibilities to customers, shareholders, the environment and society, and employees. It reports ISO14001 certification for SMFG and principal Group companies and states that SMBC's head offices are carbon neutral through Green Energy and carbon credits. The report also highlights approximately ¥600 million in aggregate donations for reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
