Overview

The report presents SMFG's four priority CSR issues: reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the environment, the declining birthrate and aging population, and globalization. It highlights 551 reconstruction volunteers, 1,594 employees taking parental leave and 177,272 t-CO2 of emissions. The report also describes Group-wide CSR oversight through the Group CSR Committee and support for initiatives including the United Nations Global Compact, CDP and environmental management standards.
