Overview

The report describes Tata Steel's first full year after the Corus acquisition, creating a group with 82,700 employees across four continents. Consolidated net sales reached Rs. 131,535.88 crores in FY2007-08, while the Group pursued a 20% CO2-footprint reduction target by 2020 from 1990. Tata Steel India reduced CO2 intensity to 2.04 t/tcs and improved solid-waste utilisation to 86%. The centenary year also launched a Rs. 100 crore initiative for social and environmental sustainability.
