Overview

The report describes Tesco Group's 2007 progress on climate change, resource use, ethical trading, communities and its people. Group carbon emissions were 4.47 million tonnes of CO2e, and Tesco set targets to halve emissions from existing stores and distribution centres worldwide by 2020 and distribution emissions per case by 2012. UK stores created 487,000 tonnes of waste and recycled 342,000 tonnes, while total CO2e emissions were independently assured by Environmental Resources Management Limited. The Board of Directors reviewed the Corporate Responsibility strategy twice a year, supported by executive and management committees.
