Overview

The report presents Union Bank of India's 2014-15 business responsibility performance, including INR 13.25 crores of CSR spending and initiatives in solar lighting, sanitation, health and education. It reports 35,514 employees, including 7,890 women, and bank-wide training for 31,340 personnel. Financial-inclusion activity reached 18,396 unbanked or marginally banked villages, while 134 Lac customer accounts were acquired through biometric cards. Environmental actions included energy-efficient equipment, solar-energy use and rainwater harvesting, although the report says the gains were not yet measurable.
