Overview

The report describes UBA's 2014 implementation of the nine Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles, including environmental and social risk screening, operational footprint measures, and Board reporting. It reports the appointment of Group Environmental Risk Managers and use of a Social and Environmental Impact Assessment Questionnaire in lending. The report also highlights education and health initiatives, including the National Essay Competition across Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal, and a donation of over US$1 million to the Ebola response. It records 533,749 accounts opened for financially disadvantaged people during the year.
