Overview

The report describes DoD's FY 2023 environmental portfolio across restoration, conservation and planning, compliance, climate resilience, and environmental technology. It reports 40,695 IRP/MRS sites in inventory and more than 34,304 at Response Complete, while conservation work included nine species action plans across 40 installations and ranges. DoD expanded climate assessment tools to over 2300 installations and sites globally and completed water-management and security assessments at 59 installations. Its technology programs demonstrated PFAS and fluorine-free firefighting solutions and transitioned environmental technologies for military use.
