Annual Report on Sustainability Practices

The report describes University of California sustainability progress in 2011, including 38 new LEED certifications and 87 certifications overall. It reports approximately $11 million in utility grants received during 2011 and more than $32 million in annual savings from implemented energy-efficiency projects. The report also states that systemwide 2010 emissions fell by approximately 42,000 metric tonnes compared with 2009. It notes that campuses had made progress toward waste-diversion goals, while reaching the next diversion target remained challenging.
