Overview

The report describes USW's progress toward Net Zero emissions by 2040, including a 36% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions against the 2018/19 baseline. It reports 579 tonnes of operational waste generated in 2023/24, with 41% recycled. The university also procured electricity from 100% REGO-backed renewable sources and expanded onsite solar generation to around 500KW. Sustainability governance, engagement, biodiversity, education, procurement, and low-carbon construction are also highlighted.
