Environmental Sustainability Report

Overview

The report is Ushio's English digest of its fiscal 2007 group-wide environmental activities, covering consolidated environmental management across Japan and overseas. It describes a president-chaired Environment Committee and Group Environmental Council, group EMS governance, and ISO-based systems. It reports a group ecological-balance inventory including 626,969 GJ of energy, 500,302 m3 of water input, 1,649 t of waste, and manufacturing and transportation CO2 outputs. The report also discloses fiscal 2006 environmental accounting costs and a fiscal 2008 group target to reduce CO2 emissions per unit sales by 2% below fiscal 2005.
