Sustainability Report

The report presents Vale's 2014 sustainability performance across climate, safety, workforce and stakeholder themes. It reports 13.8 million tCO2e of Scope 1 emissions, 2.1 million tCO2e of Scope 2 emissions and 255 million tCO2e of Scope 3 emissions, alongside a 5% direct-emissions reduction target for 2020. The report also records eight work-related fatalities involving employees and contractors and a workforce of 206,400 employees and contractors. It was prepared with GRI disclosures and independently assessed through limited assurance by Bureau Veritas.
