Integrated Report

The report presents Vale's 2023 progress across a workforce of 234,566 employees and a broad sustainable-mining program. Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reported at 9.7 Mt CO2e, down 20.4% from the 2017 baseline, while Scope 3 emissions were 451.2 Mt CO2e. The report also details the company's 2030 and 2050 decarbonization commitments, renewable-energy initiatives, tailings management, biodiversity work, and community reparations. Sustainability oversight is assigned to the Board of Directors, supported by advisory and executive committees.
