The report records strong 1997 performance, with group turnover of NOK 4,960.8 million and 3,176 employees at year-end. Its HSE programme reduced total lost-time injuries to 67 and the injury rate to 12.5 per million working hours. Veidekke also established an Environmental and Recycling sector focused on receiving, sorting, handling, storage and sale of waste products from construction sites.
