Overview

The report describes Viridor's 2013/14 progress in recycling, renewable energy and infrastructure investment. It reports 2.4 million tonnes of material recycled, 778 GWh of renewable power generation and 150 sites certified to ISO 50001. Operational carbon emissions fell 8% against the 2010/11 baseline, while a 35% reduction goal was maintained for 2020. Six closed landfill sites achieved or retained Biodiversity Benchmark certification, alongside extensive community funding and education activity.
