Sustainability Report

Overview

The report documents Western Sydney University's 2017 contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through teaching, research, campus operations and engagement. It highlights First Peoples initiatives, including 60 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and more than 660 students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Operational highlights include 135,000 kWh of solar electricity generated, 200,000 kL of recycled water used and 75,000 native tubestock planted. It also reports regional engagement through 30 partners and 3,000 people engaged in the Cumberland Corridor program.
