Overview

The report describes WH Smith PLC's 2006/07 progress across marketplace, environment, workplace and community. It reports a reduction in overall Group carbon dioxide emissions from 41,493 tonnes to 18,528 tonnes and Group energy consumption reduction of 9% year on year. Sustainable, recycled and certified forest sourcing rose to 41% of own-brand timber and paper, while 2007 community programmes reached 3,500 children in 17 locations.
